Flame Angel Question

Hello, everyone.
This week I am going to get another fish. I'm not sure what kind yet. I'd really like a Flame Angel, but am not sure now is the best time. I currently have two Ocellaris clowns in my tank (55g), and would like more fish. It's been set up for a year and a half with no major issues.
My question is, would it be a bad idea to add the angel now if I want to add more fish later?
Thanks in advance!

for a 55, u wont be able to add many fish down the road anyway. what fish do u have in mind down the road? adding a flame angel is fine as long as u have enough rocks for it to graze on.

I have plenty of rock, and right now plenty of hair algae, lol. But that problem is in the process of being dealt with.
So the angel wont be overly aggresize toward new fish? I was thinking maybe a goby and pistol shirmp, and maybe a royal gramma. But I just really want an angel. So if I can get one now I'd be happy. But am willing to wait. The age of the tank isn't an issue though, like I said is established.

How much is plenty of rock? I mean, I probably have forty-fifity pounds in the tank, but its a very open aquascape, with lots of arches and caves. But there aren't tons of hiding places where a fish could not be found. Is this okay?
Also, are they hard to keep? I don't want to kill a fish...

you can get a flame but..... acclimate for atleast 4 hours and every 15 min. or so add a little of your water so the critter will also acclimate to your salinity. IMO it might want to be one of the LAST fish you add. They do like to weave in and out of rocks so you might want to think about it a little. Gluck

I'll drip acclimate it.
I have cover in my aquascape, its just more of an open design. There aren't a lot of tight spaces, lots of caves and arches though. Plenty of places where the angel could pass through the rock work.
I probably only be adding something like a royal gramma, and maybe a goby.
Do they demand anything extra special water quality wise?

well rumor has it they are hard to keep. We have one right now going thru a hyo (slowly). give them nori strips to pic on from time to time and feed 2x aday. water quality is important for all fish so I don't believe anything more than what your doing now.

I feed twice a day now, so that isn't a problem.
I've never had issue maintaining good water quality, unless someone else was feeding the tank (but we won't go there).
So you think I'm good to try one?

u should be fine. they r really not hard to keep at all. i got mine from this site about 2 year ago. besides my clown, he is the king of the tank.
