Flame Angel

Hi guys! I have had my 29 gallon biocube running for about a month. I finished cycling and bought a Flame to go with my two Chromis. My problem is that he doesn't seem to ant to eat my flake food that the lfs said he preferred. All he eats is the algae from my live rock (which is thickly covered right now). He is by no means starving; if anything, he is eating too much because as small as he is (~2") he has become a heavy polluter. But is this normal?

My flame loves algae sheets and frozen emerald entree. Depending on how long you've had him he may still be adjusting to your tank.

I feed mine a mixture of algae sheets and pellet food. Plus he tends to clean up whatever the lion or eel dont eat. I agree with alyssia, he maybe just adjusting. Mine didn't eat for 3 days when I first got him. Now he eats like a pig.

Had mine a week now, he is eating well, loves brine, sort of likes mysis, formula 1...Won't touch algae sheets yet, i'm a bit surprised at that one
, even tried soaking in garlic.

Ok, I'll try the frozen foods. I think he is gonna need more time to adjust now though, cause I got home yesterday and found a puddle around my tank. The back was cracked all the way across and I couldn't stop the leak with silicone or epoxy, so I bought another one at the lfs and I'll send the old one back to be warrantied (bought online). Now that I got everything transfered he's a little freaked out again.

I use my brine shrimp to stimulate feeding when I first get a fish. The fish sees the other fish eat it and then eats it himself. Other than that I use mysis shrimp and full spectrum pellets

brine or mysis shrimp and some algae should do the trick ;)
