Flame Hawk or Angel

I am looking for a bright colored orange or red addition to my 50 gal. Right now my LFS has both of these guys in stock. I am torn between the two?
I have read that the Flame Hawk will eat shrimp and go after small fish? I have a small yellow clown goby as well as a HUGE (2 Inch long) Pep shrimp. Would this be a problem?
And as for the Angel, I heard they are hit and miss on weather they will nip at polyps and some corals??
Any comments or experiences with these two would be great.

I posted your Flamehawk concerns about 4-5 posts down.
Melody says they will eventually for sure eat your shrimp.
You have a peppermint, you might wanna not get the Flame, add 1-2 Cleaner Shrimp to your tank.
And go with a Dwarf Angel.
I dunno about the nipping at corals. Almost every picture you see on the boards with corals has a Dwarf Angel in there somewhere.

flamehawks are very cool, i have one in a 175g with 6 adult sized shrimp and he never even looks at them. if they were very small it may be a different story. he eats frozen brine/mysis and pellets and is quite happy on this food. i have 3 dwarf angels the bicolor is my favorite and they get along with flame hawks in my tank. small shrimp and snails may fall prey to a underfeed flamehawk but lg shrimp are probably safe.

Flame Angels mainly pick at brains and xenias. They seem to usually leave the rest alone. My first one picked a brain almost to death, but my second one is eating mostly frozen foods and leaves everything else alone.

any accounts of the flame hawk going after smaller fish...ie clown gobie size?

Well my Hawkfish is in a 55 gal with some damsels and clownfish and i have never seen it pick on any of the smaller damsels. If anything, the damsels seem to try and boss it around.
I don't know about the shrimp since the hawkfish does LOVE frozen fish and i think it would probably nip at a smaller shrimp given the chance.

As stated, both involve risks. I think the flame angel may be less of a risk than the hawk. JMO

i have heard of a story with flame hawk going almost a year w.o even touching the shrimp and theen one day poof1 eayen & gone!
