Hi. Id like to get a flame scallop at my LFS, but have low light. Tank is only 3 months old. How will it do in a 70 gallon FOWLR?
Light is a 40 watt tube in a sunlit foyer.
Will a copperband butterfly or a flame angel eat it. (I know a baby Niger may, but Ill risk that...)
Thanks

They will prob nip at it. Causing it to stay retracted and die. Thier survival is low anyways. Do some research on em first before ya buy one!

I don't know about the compatibility, but I've been told they do not require any certain type of lighting.

they aren't photosynthetic which means that they don't require any special lighting. BUT, the flipside of that is that you have to feed them...usually phytoplankton and the like and heavy doses as they derive 100% of their nutrition from stuff they pull out of the water. they don't live long in captivity, probably because we don't understand/can't replicate the conditions they see in nature. for what it's worth....
