they are filter feeders that almost always die within a month in the average reef tank. They do not have a long lifespan to begin with and they usually starve because our tanks are 'too clean' and dont have enough nutrients to sustain this beautiful critter.
If hes just getting rid of them you can try it, but its not a long term thing.
But! we would love for you to prove us wrong!
no benefit or negative factors to your tank, just an ornament.
Good Luck

he wants like $9 for each one so that is y i questioned it. i think i might give 1 a try and see what happens. i have a feeling that he might go(die) cuz i have double the filtration i need for my tank. im gonna think on it if i do though
thanks for the help

These guys tend to find a crevice and hide in it. If the crevice is in front, it's fine, but if it hides, you won't see it for a long time, if it lives. Also, look around if you want one... Even my LFS sells them for $7 a piece, and I know they're cheaper off SWF usually, like 2 for $15 or so? $9 isn't bad, but... it's all about whatever floats your boat!

For what it's worth, and you already know, they are beautiful!
One major thing for keeping one is making sure you have plenty of food in the water column... Phytoplankton, marine snow, that sort. Nothing really big for them. They do far better with tiny stuff.
