Flame Scallops

No matter where I placed my flame scallop in my old 175, it would always move itself somewhere else, usually where I couldn't see it. They are kind of like anemones that way... their ideal spot may not be your ideal spot. This can make them difficult to care for since they need to be target fed with phytoplankton in order to thrive.

they need a very dark cave/under a nice shaded place. i bought one and it live for like 4 months then it died. they only live for like 8 months according the my LFS. they didnt sell it to me either so i trust them.

If it moves itself to a different area, just leave it. That is most likely the area it has the best chance of surviving in.

The best place in in the back of a dark cave where no light reaches but plenty of dirty water flows by.
Of course, you won't be able to see it but that's better than watching it starve I suppose.
