Flashing

Ahoy! :) I'm new to marine aquariums as well as this website and am really looking forward to learning from all you fellow aquatic lovers out there! I've had my tank for about 5months. After several fish casualties & mucho dinero, I think I've finally 'bout got it figured out! My fish are all still alive, seem happy & are eating well. Lately though, I've been seeing them rubbing up against things a lot ("flashing" I think it's called? I dunno...). I've been watching them closely & don't see any signs of ich, etc., water parameters all check okay so, I'm at a loss... Any ideas???

I have an assortment... A Pajama Cardinal, a Chalk Basslett, a Strawberry Dottyback, a Yellow Damsel, a Panther Grouper (very small), a Tomato Clownfish, & some kind of blue goby (I forget exactly what kind), and they are all doing it to some degree.
BTW, I have great admiration for our military & believe they all deserve many hugs & kisses so, here's yours.... XOXOXO :)

You might want to post this over in the disease forum, but I would guess that you have some type of parasite infection going on. The question is, what kind? and how to treat? How long have they been flashing? If it has been more than a few days, and nothing has died then it probably isn't velvet, and may be some other internal parasite. See what they say over at "diseases" forum.
