Flea Medication

I was putting flea medicine on my dog this weekend and happenened to read on the back of the package fatal to fish. Has anyone ever had trouble with dog hair floating in the tank after apply medicine? Is it really that lethal? This is a 140lb dog so there is a lot of medicine to put on. I have no canopy on my tank and occasionly see a few stray hairs in the tank and with the weather changing the dog is starting to shed.

A few stray hairs should not be an issue. If any of the medication is a spray, be sure to cover your tank and use the medication in another room.
