is the a float switch out there that i could use to cut the power to my pump automatically if the water rises too much in my 130 gal tank
the air tube that creates the siphon effect for my over-flow box clogs every once in a while and the pump in the lower tank will keep pumping water to the upper 130 gal tank.
its over flowed once
can anyone help?

Yes you can get a float switch to do this. You can get one by float or a submersable pressure swithc would work too. I would look in an industrial parts catalog or website. I have seen some that would work for what you want.

A conventional ATO can also do this, provided it's rated to handle the current draw of the pump. I know JBJ makes one.
If you have a CPR overflow or one of the "clones" out there, try replacing your siphon hose with black hose instead of clear. The hose often clogs with algae. I've found this helps considerably.
If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot, etc you should be able to fine the "Mr. Mister" (the sprinkler product, not the 80's love-ballad band) landscape dripper type sprinkler stuff. You can get 100' coils of black hose for only a few dollars that works great for this purpose.

SCSI,
Did you see my question to you on the other thread the other day about multiple heaters?
