Float Switch or Valve??

Okay,
I'm lost and I really need help. I want to install something in my sump to turn off my return pump if the water level gets to low (therefore the pump will not burn out). I've had problems with my overflow and had to run the plug out the return pump but I can't be there to babysit the sump so I need to have something in place to do the "turning off" for me.
What am I suppose to get? a float valve or a float switch?
Could someone please explain the difference and what I'm suppose to look for and some links to where I can buy it.

Float Switch... you will need to make sure it can handle the amps of your return pump.

So now I know that I need a float switch. How do I find out the amp rating for my Mag 9.5 return pump? Will the device be labeled with the info?

Hi,
I found out that the Mag 9.5 is rated for 115 volts..
Any idea where I can find a float switch.?
