float switch

Sorry, I got interupted before I finished my thought.
What comes with the HD switch? Does it say it's OK for salt water?
The one I use is just a low amp switch, no bells or whistles. It works good.

Fish,
What you're describing is exactly what I set up. I have a Maxi 1200 in a 4 gallon bucket hooked to a float switch. A couple of things I learned were to make sure that the feed line to the tank is slightly above water, this will prevent a back siphon. The other thing is making it snail proof. No accidents yet, but the other day a snail took a ride on the switch, turning it on. Aside from that it works great. I've got to address the snail thing.

From the pics I've seen, you put the float switch inside of a piece of PVC pipe. End caps on each end with lots of small holes (smaller than the snails) drilled into the PVC.
