Floating Cotten Fibers?????

I have a 100 gallon tank with carbon balls, 2 NS70 pumps (top and bottom return), protein skimmer, and a top off tank. The tank is 90 days old. I have had problems but the tank is now stable. Cycled well and the nitrates, PH and salt are great. My problem is that the water is crystal clear but I have what appears to be small cotton fibers floating through out the tank. My lps says it is air bubbles but I think not… What is it? How can I clean it off? Please advise!! :help:

Did you leave anything like a sticker or tag that is underwater? Perhaps on a skimmer pump or heater or something?
What are carbon balls?
Are you using any kind of filter floss or filter cartridges, anything that might be leaving fiberous material in the water column?
:notsure:

One other thought, take some of these fibers out if you can and see if they move on there own. Could be some type of worm.

I have noticed some worm activity on the back glass of the tank. They look simular to the cotten fiber and are alive. What is it?

Are these maybe 1/4" long, and so thin as to just look like little threads? I've got them too. No idea so far what they are...

:happyfish Went to my lps and they said that the cotton looking stuff is good. It's alive. They think that if I had fish this possibly would be under control. I plan to order some fish this weekend.
