Florida Question

I went to the Keys many years ago and bought a 7 day fishing license to catch fish for my tank. Is this still possible in Florida, and is there anywhere in the state that a person could collect any kind of rock from the ocean floor. I have seen that rock is off limits in the keys but I can't find anything on collecting marine fish for individual use. Does anyone know todays laws about collecting for non - commercial. Also anyone know anyother good places in the U.S. for gathering a few small fish and animals for the home tank?
TIA
John

you can still collect in FL. You just need the fishing license. You can collect shrimp, crabs, urchins, nudibranchs, without a license. A friend of mine just came back from the Keys with a bunch of stuff and gave me a small queen angel. She didn't make it, never ate for me, but I tried. Never found a body, though.
Just can't collect within state parks, federal refuges or sanctuaries, places like that.
