i would say minimum around 40-50 turnover/gph. i know turnover isnt the right term to use because its a term used for water being returned from sump or closed loop. i have 2 tunze 6025s that are modified for 1,200gph each and a koralia#1 in a 28g and those alone are at around 96 flow rate, not including my return pump.

What I have seen and read is that the sps do need to have a good amount of flow going over them. You don't want them blown away but you don't want them sitting stagnate either. I would add/arrange flow to where you can see the polyps moving back and forth, what, about every 2-4 seconds. A good way to arrange ph/water flows is to have them oppose each other creating a turbulence. This will keep it from staying a direct flow. Or use a good wave-maker set-up.
