Flow in a Protein Skimmer

Ok with the air driven models, im curious of how the water intially enters and exits the skimmer?
i havent seen one personally, i understand the concept of how it works but cant understand the flow of the water to force water in and out.

Did you have a specific one in mind? Just as there is variations in design on say Venturi-operated skimmers, the air driven ones come in different flavors as well.

um i think its called the SUper SKimmer by Coralife, yeh its a cheap one but its a small 15 gallon tank.

ok wait does the skimmer go inside the tank? cuz if it does than that makes sense to me, but if it hangs on the back than im still confused.
