Flow Question

How do you tell or know if you have enough flow in your tank? I turned one of my powerheads down a bit because it kept blowing a area of my sand.
Thanks

At the very basic, i would say you have enough flow when you have no dead spots in your tank and enough water movement to keep detrius suspended.

if your PH is blowing sand everywhere, I wouldn't turn it down, I'd angle it up just enough to get the sand to stop moving, there will still be flow low in the tank but the main direct flow from the PH will not affect your substrate

This flow thing is tough to grasp.
I have what I consider good flow, I have to be careful where I place rocks or they will get blown off the ledge. Yet when I read what others have, WOW.
Lets hear and see pics of everyones flow rate. Size of tank, number and size of PH, direction of flow and a pic/videos of it moving corals.
I will start a new thread.
