Flow Rate? Good Pump For Sump?

What type of flow rate would I need for a sump. I would have about 5' of lift to the tank. I was thinking of the Mag 700 pump it has around 400 gph at 5', would this be a good choice?

The choice of a pump is dependent on the size of the tank. Normally people use 10 turns per hour as a good rule of thumb, but some go more and some less.
400 gph would be average for a 40 gallon tank using this rule.
400 gph on a 29 gallon tank would be almost 14 turns an hour - more than enough.
Make sure your choice in overflows can handle that amount as well.

Thanks Broomer, I am building a sump for a new 65 gallon aquarium. I so I will probably go with the Mag Drive 9.5 instead of the seven. It would put out 770 gph at five feet. :p
