fluidized bed filters

what does anybody think about having a fluidized filter on a 120 reef tank in addition to lr/ls ?

They work great, but the new trend is to add more live rock for bio filtration! ED

I would not use a fluidized bed filter on a reef. They are extremely efficient doing the aerobic part of the nitrogen cycle, but then dump out the nitrates. If you have sufficient live rock leave that. Are you having problems biologically?

right now i can't seem to get my nitrates below 20-40 even with ro water
