I was thinking about getting a fluval 304 to replace my annoying penguin filter.
What do you guys think of it? is it quiet? When the water shoots back in the tank... is it strong enough that it has the power like a powerhead?
I will be cleaning the filter atleast once a week so i know there shouldnt be any problems with any build ups.

Here is a picture of how it looks inside.

You can basically customize it to any way you wish. The rated output is 260 gph, which is somewhere in between a Maxijet 900 and 1200. So, I would think the output would be very similar. But you have added water capacity to your tank and place to add media filters.

Cleanup should be easy enough since there is a lever that you flip up to disconnect the hose from the canister. It also closes the hose so no water leaks out. Then there are clamps on the sides to open the lid. Everything inside is just like a normal hang on filter where you slide in the plastic containers.
Once you have cleaned it, just put it back the way you took it out. Place the hose back in place, switch the lever down. Then fill the canister up with water again using the stick (on the top left of the picture with the suction cup on the end) by pushing up and down. Then plug it in.
