Hey all
My Fluval 204 (External) has broken, im running an internal filter at the moment till i buy a new filter tommorow. I'm very impressed with the Fluval externals and i'm planning to buy another.
My question is would a Fluval 404 be too much, i've worked it out that it would filter all of the water in my tank 14 times
in an hour, or put in another way it will filter 25% of my tanks water every minute.
Reply soon Please! :)

You won't need another power head !!! I think the extra media chambers are helpful. I run ceramic, carbon, phosguard, and another ceramic. The input gets covered pretty quick which tells me it is cleaning pretty good.
It will clean more water per hour which makes me think the water will stay cleaner. Also, it will have a larger area to house the good bacteria.

run no carbon in a saltwater tank it takes out trace elements. I run a 304 in mine it's perfect. and a 404 on my 150
