Those G series look amazing...
I see the demos though and worry that I am just getting dazzled by the appearance and fancy electronics... have you seen the pricing yet?

One of the LFS's had a demo up, and it was broke already, the screen was flashing on/off and said error or something, and none of the controls worked

Race and Marty have them, the G3 is $439 and the G6 is $499. Seems like either the G3 is priced a bit high, or the G6 is a great deal %%. They have the same footprint, the G6 is just tall. Not sure at that pricepoint who wouldn't just spring for the G6 instead?
I think the big let down in the electronics. Other then the pump functions, the only actual water parameter readings Hydrotech gives you, is temperature and electrical conductivity. When was the last time anyone cared about EC?

Sounds like the G6 is the great deal. I had a fluval 205 when I first started out... It was when I converted to saltwater from fresh and was using a glass tank.
I have a sump now on this huge system in my living room and I am taking it down (We kinda touched on this in another thread aquaknight) because my sump is just not as quiet as I would like. I am thinking of either like a 60 gal, or so, with a new fluval G series or just a regular fluval (Which I loved mine) and a plain glass tank.
I don't think the price is all that bad actually, as long as it works well. I have not seen a demo, but I have read up on them and they look amazing!
