Foam board or not?

In the middle of October my 180 will be here and it's a custom built aquarium and stand. The question I have is: Should I use a thin foam board between the glass and the stand. The glass will be sitting directly on the wood base. This one does not have the plastic frame around the bottom base to sit on (it does but it's strictly cosmetic, not structural.) The base it is sitting on is planar and made of furniture grade plywood. I know the tank has been overbuilt in terms of glass thickness and bracing. I'm just looking for some advice before it's here and being put up. I know it must be working fine without it now since it's been up and functioning for over a year now. So, What would you all do?
Thanks in advance
Derrick

Ask the maker what they suggest. Some tank builder will not warranty a tank unless it is installed to their specification. Installing the foam may void it's warranty.
