I DID A WATER CHANGE ABOUT 50 GALLONS BUT THE WATER IS NOT CRYSTAL CLEAR
ANYTHING I CAN BUY OR DO TO MAKE THE WATER CLEAR
I HEARD PEOPLE TALK ABOUT CARBON AND DIATOMS

Wow, de javu, I could have sworn I already responded to this post. Anyways, I'll repost. Was there a reason you did that large of a water change? Do you have high ammonia or nitrate buildup? Your water may simply be cloudy from the water change. Salt water is naturally cloudy when first mixed, especially in large amounts.

I just recently installed a skimmer in a new (8 months old) setup and the water is crystal clear, the best it has ever looked. The skimmer isn't even broken in yet (only been running two days) and it collected some nasty looking stuff in the cup. In any case it is a noticable difference after just a few days.
Just my two cents worth...

A skimmer is a good idea in any tank set up wether fish only or reef but for the type of set up you have with lions and groupers in there , a mechanical outside filter is a must. You see lions and groupers tax the water with their waste and this in turn will give you cloudy water.
I have an outside mechanical filter in just about new condition or new condition that I can give you a good price on. I am also in NYC. My Email BigBoneDee@nyc.rr.com
