"Fool"- Proofing My Tank for NY Eve

So, my roomates and I are going to have a big party on new years eve and I want to make sure no "foreign" substances get in my tank.
I have a glass canopy on the right side, but I hung my overflow on the left side so I can't fit the canopy. I'm really just worried about solid objects being dropped, is it ok to put a mesh type screen from home depot under the 4x55w PC Lights?
As far as foreign liquids go, I'll just have to take my chances...

Depends on the type of material that mesh is. Just make sure it wont melt from the heat of the PCs which i doubt it would. Other than that, i dont see a problem with covering it for a while. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I think after a few alchoholic refreshments that is usually enjoyed on New years Eve, anyone can be a fool.

I used egg crate from home depot to cover my tank. I just cut around the overflow box. It was $9.00 a 4' sheet. It don't melt and I have 250w MH 6" from the top. Just a suggestion.

For just the one night..I think I would enclose it in a temp plywood casing...turn the lights off to detract attention, cover it with sheets or something...put a portable table in front of it, a piano..or something heavy...put razor wire around it...
Friends dont let friends drink and go near the fish tank...

Yea that would be best, but I wanna show it off!! :D
I'll just use the egg crate with some screen or just screen then and just keep the actinics on.
Also, I can have my roomates look out for the tank if I'm not around also.
Any other ideas?

This brings to mind a High School party from the Mid 80's. The kids parents had a beautiful F.O. tank, everything ended up in it! Beer, vodka, Pee etc... Wiped the whole thing out. Felt really sorry for him! Just keep a very close eye on the tank!
