I have half inch styrofoam to use between tank and stand. Should I put a piece under the entire bottom of the tank or just around the perimeter. Why I asked is will the foam put upward pressure on the bottom glass. Also no plywood on the top of the stand it's an inwall mount. thanks in advance

The tank will probably not "settle in" to the foam pad enough for it to contact the glass. If you are worried about it, put a piece of plywood on top of the foam. It'll still accomplish the task this way.

They tank will settle very little (almost nill) into the foam........You would be perfectly fine placing the foam under the entire tank.....I must caution that you should contact the tank manufacturer, because each manufacturer has their own thoughts on that subject and could possibly void the warranty if used or not used....

I know that glasscages has a policy like this. You either follow their guidelines to the letter, or warranty void.
