For real- do emeralds eat bubble algae?

I just spotted one and it's going to be hard to get to. Real deep in a hole.

When I had Bubble Algae, I got 4 emeralds, and they never touched it..unfortunatly, I pulled the Bubble algae out with my plastic tongs one by one.

i think mine did. unless they just came off. also took off some hair algae from one of my frags of zoas
but dont count on it

I pull the rock out and SCRAPE IT WITH A BLADE. then an ro wash off.

if you dont have a lot id just do it manually. they come off pretty easy if you like pick them off just make sure you dont break them or leave bits on the rock because i think they can grow back... its pretty easy though. i just plucked mine off with a pair of russians and problem solved. every once in a while i see one now but i just pick it off.
plus its free! in my opinion, the emeralds were pretty useless, except to pick up excess food, which the crabs and snails get anyways.

Is there any truth to them spreading if popped?

not sure... i think that if some pieces get left on the rock they can grow back and there will be more of them... kinda like fragging them? but IDK thats just what ive read.
