? for Squidd, or anyone, RE: HOB overflows

I built those out of specimen containers, a U tube and a bulkhead from the LFS, the rest came from the hdwr stors...under $30...

Awesome, thanks for quick response. Planning on building a fuge for wife's (Jrisgr8) tank, trying to get as much info as possible.

Okay, I've attached a diagram of what I understand so far. Here are my questions (so far):
A) First, is this right so far?
B) Do I need to pump out of the overflow, or will gravity/suction take care of that?
C) What about a fuge? Do I need a seperate tank or can I build it in here somewhere?
D) How do I determine how much volume each chamber requires in the sump?

A. Pretty much (design differences in sump chambers)/ where's the skimmer?
B. Gravity after siphon is started
C.Maybe, how big is the sump (see "A" above)
D. Depends on 1.sump size ,2. footprint of equipment placed inside,3. baffle height creates volume, 4.need room for "backwash" when power goes out...
