My firefish has been in QT for 23 days, 20 of those in hypo. He had ich and an internal bacterial infection, both of which seem to be gone, thanks to the hypo and Maracyn-Two. I stopped the M2 treatment about a week ago and added the carbon back into the filter. He hasn't eaten prepared foods in 20 days. I don't know what he's living off of, but occasionally I see him biting at the sand. Over the past few days, he's been acting in the oddest of manners. He'll arch his body, stick his mouth into the sand, and flap his fins relentlessly while chomping away at the sand or sometimes nothing. It looks like he's convulsing, but he'll often take breaks and just sit on the sand without moving. This doesn't seem like normal behavior at all, and I'm concerned there's something seriously wrong with him. For all I know, he may be on his deathbed. Or he may be looking for food (doubtful, but I'm trying to remain optimistic). He doesn't show any interest in the multiple kinds of food I've presented to him. However, for the first couple days I had him, he was eating flake food just fine. My question is this: Should I perform a formalin or FW dip on this fish? The thing is, I don't know if there's anything wrong with him that would require this. But I feel as though I'm running out of options. Thanks in advance :happyfish
