Fourescent Green Stuff in sand

Hey Guys,
I have a question. Does anyone know what this may be. I have a flourescente green slime or agea or coraline growing on the front of my tank between the glass and the sand about 1/2" under the sand bed. Id guess it was algea but it is really flourescent green... Maybe coraline or something. I dont know... Sorry no pics, but any suggestions/ideas would be cgreat

I think it is a type of cyanobacteria, I have something similar in my sandbed and its been there for over a year with no ill effects.
