If your 12 and can afford it, sure. Only if you have the appropriate habitat to sustain it.
this. and i suggest you slow down in this hobby. We've had a couple of kids on these forums before, and almost all of them ended getting out of the hobby. Not to mention they let their tanks go down a path of neglect before doing so. I was spoiled when I was a kid too, but you're already talking high priced fishes and AI units?
The best i could get out of my parents for my reef when i was young was a mandarin goby and pc lights

If you can qtine this fish and are ready to treat him for parasites, then yes, but if you do not have the ability AND equipment to qtine AND treat him for the inevitable ich breakout, then pass on it. Tangs are tricky to qtine and hyposalinity alone may not clear up an ich breakout. If you have alot of experience fighting ich and the equipment to do it, great! If not, it's be best to pass on the tang.

Please understand that this was done with genuine intentions, but wandering tank figures (most owners generally know how big their tank is), and lack of photo evidence, usually rises an eyebrow. Couple that with the fact you're only 12, which I'm sure you understand is generally unheard of, for a 12 year old to be caring for a 300 gallon saltwater aquarium.
If you really do have a 300gal set up and running, egg on my face. If the cost of the fowleri tang will not impact the day-to-day care of the tank (money for salt for water changes, fish food, etc), go buy it. I also would strongly suggest a QT for this guy first.
However if you do have only a 125gal, or smaller, please pass on this fish.

Aquaknight, you brought up a really good point.
Coral Guy,
check out
http://www.firsttankguide.net/calculator.php
to see how big your tank really is.
It's OK if it's not 300.
The important thing is too choose the right livestock and fish that would suit your tank best.
In the SWF hobby, it's not about how big or small your tank is. It's about how well put together the tanks are.
If I see someone put a humu humu triggerfish in a 40 gallon tank (minus a temporary tank or a quarantine or something similar), I will think very lowly of them. But if they have a variety of fish that are put together nicely that are compatible with each other, I will want to follow their threads and always see what their up to. I will look up to them and take their advice.
