Just got a new fox face fish (from this site) yesterday. Acclimated him according to procedure - but all he does is hide in the back of the tank. Is this normal?
oh yea its normal for a foxface to hide up to a week.dont worry about its color changes either .
they are a very timid fish for a while
mine hid for over a week i now have him for 4 or 5 yrs and he comes close to sticking me when i put the seaweed in.

Same here. They are a great fish. Mine has buddied up with my Kole Tang.
I have a Magnificent Foxface currently in my QT. He was very shy for about 9 or 10 days and was changing color every time I got close, when the lights went off and basically for any reason. Now, about 2-1/2 weeks into QT he is doing great. He rarely even tries to hide, eating like a pig and never changes color. Good luck with yours they seem to be great fish.
I got mine a week ago from here and while he was almost dead out of the bag he is doing fine now. He was very shy and would lay on his side in a corner.
He is eating good and even took care of some bubble algae in the QT !!
