Ok time for a new fish. I like the Foxface, but my wife is nervous getting stung. So if you have one how do you like it.

I have a barred rabbitfish and foxface. Both are potentially venomous. Tell your wife no need to worry about being stung, they usually run when anything is in the tank,(arms) except food....what characters. I really like mine, up front and always begging for more. Mine will eat out of my hand. They have never given me one ounce of trouble.
I have a green tupperware tumbler that I use for the frozen food to thaw. They will actually try to get to the cup when it is sitting on the ledge of the tank stand thawing. This activity makes the other fish get in feeding frenzy mode. They know when food is coming because of these two.....such a sight.
What size tank? They do require a lot of space to swim.

I should say that there are two that are widely available, the one with the black spot on the tail end of the body are smaller than the one without the spot. But still at least up to 6-9 inches.

This is a nice collection of small fish, very colorful and peaceful. I would think you would want a yellow fish to add to the mix. Or 3 anthias....the lyretail anthias is a wonderful addition, just be sure they are eating before putting into the display tank. They can be somewhat iffy if not eating. But, that is what the quarantine tank is for.
As for a yellow fish....The yellow coris wrasse is flashy, and not a scaredy cat.
I wouldn't give up on the foxface, certainly do able in your tank. But, it would definately be the biggest fish. I really like mine, he is very trusting of me, and likes to take algae sheets that I hold in the water out of my hand. He has never tried to hurt me. In fact if anything he lays his dorsal fin completely down when I am working in the tank. Like I said, he is very trusting. Get a small one to start with. It's not like it will grow that big, that fast. I have had mine about 18 months and he has grown in gerth, not length. (obviously he eats well. LOL)
Good luck with your selection.

Have never had good luck with anthias. I will look into the wrasse(never herd of it). I agree on the yellow thing.

I have a foxface in my 55 (I know that this is too small, but found that out after my wife purchased him). He has been doing very well for more than 6 months now. He is definitely my most voracious eater, taking whole flakes of Formula 2 upon it hitting the water.

I believe hogfish need at least 180g. I was disappointed too when I found that out, such beautiful fish. But I think you should go with the foxface. I love mine, It adds a lot of color to the tank and is very active. They need at least 75g, but I think you'd be ok.
Anemone, my foxface and tangs love algae sheets, but I've never tried holding it. I think I'm going to try it today.

I have a yellow foxface, no spot. He was odd for about a week, laying on his side, weird color and such, but it's perfectly normal. I've had him for a while now and he's doing very well, one of my favorite fish. He is housed in my 125G along with a watchman goby, false perc, dragon goby, and dusky jaw.
I have like no fish in there, I'm all corals.

My family just loves my foxface. He is one of the most personable fish besides my porc puffer in my tank. Whenever my hand is in the tank he usally changes colors nad hides. The ony thing that has ever been stung by him was my puffer and it was an accident during a feeding frenzy. The puffer survived. He is really peaceful with the other fish in the tank. Good luck!
