Mine was one of the hardest fish I ever owned. Ate everything... his favourite pass time was following behind the other fish after they ate... ew!

i almost forgot and went to pick him up with my hand but got him back in with a net and he hasnt jumped since.they do have alot of energy and are always swimming around .great for a reef.

One of the hardiest fish around, I love mine. A little timid until they get used to the tank but after that they become a lot more outgoing.

If you get one you will not have any algae in your tank. They are algae eating machines. Make sure you get an algae clip and some sheet algae to put in it.

i had one for about 6-7 months, and it never ate algae. it ate krill, brine shrimp, and whatever else i fed it and it always had a fat belly. It was very easy to take care of did nothing different from my other fish. But i came home from work the other day and it was on the bottom dead no signs of stress or nothing it ate fine the day before and everything. But overall it seemed like a hardy fish.

Sorry to here about your loss.
Most likely because he didn't get enough greens. They are herbivores.

Mine never really ate hair algae either. I supplemented him with algae sheets. We had him for 6 - 7 years and then he died in a chloramine incident.
