Frag Prices??

Ok so I've got alot of nice frags, many different colors and types of mushrooms, acros, and soft corals. The mushrooms are on live rock in the neighborhood of 4" and cover the rock, the acros are about 3 to 4" and are encrusted on live rock and the softies ie leathers are also between 3 to 6" tall and very healthy. My question is this, My lfs said he would buy them from me to resell, What is a proper price for me to charge him if he sells the at between 40 and 50 bucks a piece??? I dont want to come across as greedy but I also would like to sell for a decent price.

i say 30 he shouldnt make all the money off your hard work and time...so i say as long as he makes his money back plus maybe 10 bucks then im cool

I'd like to do that but the shipping is such a killer, this is another reason my lfs loves guys like me cause its straight up profit for him. He doesnt need to pay shipping either.

That kinda what I thought, you see this guy has been an lfs for a long time but believe it or not he's got no idea how to prop coral just talkin with him proves that. Some of the things he tells customers drives me nuts, so I'll corner the customers and give em the straight scoop. I just cant help it

i would say 20-30 if you can...but seems like a lot of LFS like to rip people off like that....i tried to take ricordea YUMAS to one...orange ones...and so i call up and ask him if he'd buy them and he said sure i could give you.........$2 PER polyp.....i said...but don't you sell yours for $35 per polyp??? he says yes, we just dont need them right now....i of course said no thanks, lousy cheapskate trying to rip me off like that, and then rip other people off by charging a 100000% increase

Well I got an update, I talked with the lfs today and we agreed to a price of $25 per, except I told him that doesnt go for sps. He agreed and I agreed to do a half and half split on cash and credit. That suits me fine

I think Id be lookin for another lfs if mine ever tried that with me! Guess he doent know where his bread and butter comes from!

The LFS my hubby works at gives you 1/3 of what he sells it for. If I take him a large stalk of pink xenia he gives me 20.00 and sells it for 60.00.

lfs is a business with huge overheads. think about the utility bill, the wages and the rent they hv to pay.

Well then I guess I'm getting a great deal, hes gonna give me 25 per and sell them for 35per . I'm gonna do it half credit half cash.

Depends on the lfs, but I would say that if your gonna do it for store credit then he/she needs to give you more for your coral. Reason being is that all the merchandise that your gonna buy in the store is marked-up also.
