Frag question

I finally got brave enough to frag a part of my HUGE colt coral. The mother is doing very well- the spot where I cut is fine. The baby hasn't perked up as much as the mother. It's only been two days, so I'm hoping it will come around. The individual polyps on it are out and fine, it just isn't as fully expanded as it was prior to the cutting.
Any suggestions or comments?
Thanks!

let me know how that goes....
i have a colt coral too thats just way to big!!! i have had him for about 3-4 months now and hes gotten huge...!!!
basically theres 3 big stalks coming off the rock each stock is about 2" across and then it branches off from there and each piece has multiple branches.... its overall height is about 10" tall i need to figure something out because hes getting to big and starting to touch other corals unfortunately for him hes the loser the other ones sting more i guess since hes the one that pulls away from the others...
please keep me updated and tell me how u did it i think im gonna do it cut it into 3 main pieces and take 2 of the other pieces back to the LFS for credit...
thanks :happyfish

Just take a razor and cut him up! They are easy to frag and all the frags should do fine!

cut towards the base of one of the stalks, leaving about 1/2-1 inch remaining. cut with a sharp knife. colt corals can be difficult to attach to a new rock, but ya never know what u might get.
www.garf.org has great info on propagating other corals too.
