FRag tank advice

I looked at some of the frag posts, but am still a little unsure. What kind of filtration do you run? Does it need a fuge or a skimmer? I want to do one, but I want to do it right.
For all those who helped me with the closed loop ... it's running great (after I flooded the kitchen). I know my wife loves me cause she didn't kill me while I stood there and whined "but this isn't supposed to happen" as she yelled, "TURN IT OFF you moron and grab a towel!" I'd really like to get the advice part first for the frag tank so I don't repeat the loop episode.

it can be done a number of ways imo. i believe most people run a hob filter of some type that you can run carbon or filter floss of some type through. also frequent water changes to keep DOC's to a minimum, and to renew trace elements so that the frags grow best. a skimmer wouldnt be a bad idea imo either.

For my frag tank I use a HOB aquaclear 110. I really like this filter because I've owned them for years and never once had a problem. The 110 is rather large and the foam filter is about the size of huge brick, simple enough to simply reach in, pull out the filter and rinse it in old tank water. If I need to run carbon, then I just lay the carbon bag on the filter block. I also run a 55g fuge that has a huge blob of chaeto, skimmer and about 100lb of LR. Main frag tank has 2"LSB and another 50lb of LR. Simple design that really works.

Thanks TEEN and MAXALMON! There's a place near hear that sells frags for $5 so I thought I'd get some and put them in a frag tank to get bigger. If, in time, I need the tank for frags to trade or sell that would be OK too.

Most people are afraid of the word "frag tank" they think that it has some mystical aura about it.
Truth is that it's just another marine tank that has a different use. All you need is good lighting, good flow, good water and nice frags.
Oh yeah, lots of patience
