Frag Tank Lighting

I'm thinking of putting together a frag tank. I'm wondering if one 400w 10k MH would be enough light to cover a 48"x48"x12" tank. everything would be propped up on egg crate to get them as high up as i can. so most things will only be a couple inches from the surface of the water. I would put SPS in the middle 2 or 3 foot square and zoos, softies, lps around the edge.

i would say probably not on the light cause i dont think it will cover 4 foot of tank...

i know there are people that use just one 400 over 75 gallon tanks and they're 4 feet long.

i didnt rule it out, but it usually doesnt cover a 4 foot span... just tryin to help

I have a 8ft x 3ft x 12" deep frag tank. I am running 2 250watt 14k's and 2 175 14k's. My corals grow very fast- mixture of sps, lps and softies
