Hey, I am really getting into zoas and I want to make a Frag Tank. What do I need? I have extra VHO lights that I will use.

VHOs might do it, unless you want REALLY bright colors. Also, if you are looking to JUST frag and grow out zoos, you probably want to run something like carbon. MAKE SURE that you NEVER stick your bare hand or arm into a frag tank like that. Zoas release a decent amount of polytoxins that can be extremely harmfull to people as well as other animals.

I think thats over reacting to the possiblility of palytoxins a bit.
palytoxins are real and shouldnt be underestimated the real danger lies in the fragging. reaching into a tank that has toxic zoas in it isnt going to do anything to you. they only release the toxins when damaged. gloves and glasses when fragging. I have known toxic species in my tank ansd reach in bare armed all the time.
VHos are awesome for growing out zoas, I run 440w of VHO over my display tank. given the choice I would probably run t-5's but the vho's are nice. honestly for making zoas look good nothing compares to powercompacts for visual appeal, but the grow out rate sucks. I use PCs over my frag tank for holding my frags after fragging, and photographing zoanthids because the lighting seems sharper than the VHO light making the variences in color show better for photos.

You'll be good with VHO. Also zoo's like water a little bit on the dirty side so I would not run carbon you will probably get better growth rates without.
