As for your question, you can place it wherever you think it will benefit from the most. If it is not happy with where you have chosen to place it, it will adjust and find a comfortable place on its own.

ive seen a guy cut his 14" RBTA into 2 and yes they both lived, im not saing to go and cut yours into 2 eather, just that some people do but i find it a crule way to make them split

Yup, this is true! Calfo did a demonstration with a bta at the Omaha, zoo.

Thats crazy.
One time I thought my anemone was having babies, but it was really dying.
