Fraggin in the tank?

Can you frag zoas in the DT? Reason being i have a huge rock that's got alot of zoas on it and theres alot of other rocks ontop of it..

not if you can help it. its worth the work not to pollute your tank.
especially if it is a large riock as when breaking it up not only are you releasing stuff from damaged zoas, but you exposing internal anoxic zones in the rock causing die off and gaseous release, this is best done out of the tank and each piece rinsed to remove waste before returning to the tank.
 
You can do it in the tank. I've seen and done it hundreds of times. As for anoxic zones in the rock, thats only if you cut deep in the rock. I would think your only going to take the top off the rock not 1 or 2 inches. Even if you rinse the frag out of the DT they'll still release waste into the water. They don't just stop after you rinse them. Cut them up in the tank and don't worry about it.
