Okay here is what I am going to do, tell me if this is correct please....
1. Put tree in bowl of tank water...
2. Cut pieces off of mother tree in that water...
3. take cut piece out of water and dab dry base with paper towel...
4. super glue gel to piece of dabbed dry rock...
5. let dry in air for 3 minutes...
6 rinse in tank water
7. put frag back in tank...
Sound right?

I dont glue them, I just set a rock on the base and it attaches itself in a few days. sometimes as little as one day.

I agree with not gluing...they attach very quickly to a piece of rock. I have mine in an extra overflow box on the side of my tank...within 2 days that are attached.
I have so many now that I supply my lfs with frags to sell and I get store credit for more coral!

Actually there was one last step you missed that I would definitely add:
8. Ship a frag to 64156 - maelv....

I am only kidding. I can't wait until I hav my tank up and running and am able to learn how to do that....what do you use to cut them, and how do you know where it is safe to take a peice off without damaging the coral?

I use scissors and on a kenya tree cut it werever you feel like it'll all grow. I've cut them off at the base then chopped up the whole thing into many pieces, everything including the base became a new tree coral.

exactly...and they drop babies like mad...you can just wait a few days and pick them up off the substrate..definitely a hardy coral!

I wouldn't try the glue, it usually doesn't work with kenya trees. They tend to slim and just move on. Whatever rock you want to attach it to just find a small rubberband to hold it down a few days. It will attach. If the Kenya is real big already just watch your tank for drops. The Kenya will drop branches to make a new tree some where else in the tank. Try to find them before they attach or you will have a tank full of kenya in about a year........

Yes it has already dropped some, just needed to do some trimming.
I stopped at 3 and I did use glue I will see how it works. So far it is working good. I wanted to do like 10 but I quit at 3.

If we are talking about capnella, and not an arboreum, then how my tasseled filefish is doing this fragging:
- come close to the coral, select the nice branch,
- chop it, taste,
- spit.
The branch drops on the bottom (BB, no sand), or on the LR, attaches within day. Done.
I would like to have more white xenias and red mushrooms, then now I have brown capnellas, but my Chaetodermis Penicillgerus won't do that.
