Fragging dead stalk off hammer coral

I have a hammer coral that fell over in my tank. A snail knocked it over. I didn't notice that one head wasn't getting any light. the one head died. The other three heads seem happy and are healthy.
Would it be advisable to just leave the dead head or can I cut it off and then super glue the wounded side to a rock. I figure the super glue would act like a band-aide while it heals.
What are my option? Any good techniques. I'll try to get a picture up.

Dead coral heads are not like trees. you do not need to seal the end. I've read that the tips are the only living part of the hammer and the bottom is just skeleton remain. But I have little heads popping from this area on some of my branches. Then on other heads they are getting brittle and breaking by themselves. My head has been in my tank for about 20 years, once was a small head is now a medium size head and ton of heads of one and two branches.
