Fragmenting Soft/ Hard Corals

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on fragmenting corals. I have alot of kenya tree, and some Hard Corals that I would like to split up and keep growing. How big should the corals be, where/how do I break them off without hurting. What is the best way to attach them to LR fragments. Etc. Any help would be appreciated. Even good books that describe the process. Good Fishing

Well I did a little research. (not sure why I havent gotten a response on this one) I did a little cutting today and have some nice new frags to work with. I cut five new Kenya Tree. and also a new Hard finger coral fragment. I guess this is how it works in nature as well. Break apart and reproduce. I have been using Microvert, Snow, and calcium. I understand that kenya Tree is not a calcifying coral? Should I be using Accelarator?

No I wouldn't use any kind of accelarator... it just adds to the nutrients in the water.
You will get a better response if this was posted in the Reef forum. I can move it if you like or just start a new thread in the Reef forum.

Honestly, I have so many Kenya Trees that i did a little experiment and just cut off a branch with a pair of sharp scissors. Looking them after a few days they are doing extremely well. Actually, after about twenty minutes they had closed off the injured point and puffed back up to their normal size. I now have six fragments that I am trying to attach to LR fragments. They take a few days from what I have read to attach. If you have more information or think I might have done this wrong, have any tips, let me know.
good fishing,
