Freaking Antivir Scam

This stupid program took over my computer for 4 days! If you somehow get infected by this damn thing the thing that removed it for me was Malewarebytes. Look up how to remove Antivir and it should be listed there. My spyware would not find it and I could not launch any web search or any other methods of restore points with this crap. As you can see I am back.
Freaking stupid )(&(*&R$(_!

Yeah, I dont think this particular program is the end all for all spyware / malware but it will work against this Antivir. Just for the record I dont have stock or any interest in Malwarebytes. I just got messed up and if this post can help anyone else then here you go. I actually had to download it on another computer just to get this loaded on my computer. This thing was nasty.

I downloaded it on my laptop as a precaution, and I can not get it to run completely....it stops in the middle and well....stops

My computer did that when it had malware already on it. The malware was stopping the computer from loading it because it knew that it would get rid of it. so maybe your alreasy infected. There have been some bad ones going around lately. I have a 6 year old soon that uses my computer and I am getting something at least monthly!!

Try running another program like Lavasoft or Spybot Search and Destroy. You should always have 2 or 3 spyware tools as 1 may not catch what the other will. Both of these listed as well as Malwarebytes have free versions that work well.

Well thats hard to say do you get anything that says your anti virus is out of date and you need to pay to renew or anything like that. Anything else act funny. My browser got hijacked once to the point where if i went to Google and typed in the anything about virus removal the screen went white. They all act different but anything saying windows anti virus is a good hint that you been got. They try to make it look as real as possible. also my anti virus can always find them but not delete them as they are usually in protected files.

I also had one that would automatically open up a dirty website and my wife got mad at me thinkin that I was going to it :(

NOPE...I have Norton 360....and as far as I know...all is well.....
I know one of the virus scams is an antivirus renewal message....the pastor at my chruch fell for that.....I felt bad cause I almost laughed (inside) when he told me the story....I was like....you're 60 years old.....and some STRANGE company pops up...not only do you download it...HE PAID FOR IT....with his c/c....LOL...the next day he was on the phone cancelling his c/c

I disagree, I don't think I've run into anything that Malwarebytes can't handle... I run it on a regular basis (I play minor IT guy at work). It hasn't let me down.
Try installing and running it in safe mode. If you can't get it to run in normal windows.

Malwarebytes is the best antispyware program that I've seen. I've had to clean the Antivir crap off of 4 machines in the last week. Booting into Safe Mode and scanning with it worked every time.

Maybe I misspoke. It worked for me. I was just saying that it may not catch everything and its a good idea to have a couple of different programs as together they will work even better.

I'm shocked by the number of people who operate like malware is just "part of" using a computer.
If your user accounts on your computers were set up properly you'd have nearly zero problems with malware.
Stop running day-to-day with user accounts that have administrative privileges. Use administrator accounts only when needed to install something, and you'll elminate nearly all of your problems.
