I just got one of these and was told by a few people they are reef safe with caution, with shrimp. I have had a flame hawkfish before and he never bothered anything. Will this fish be ok with my neon gobies and cleaner shrimp?

Freckled hawkfish can reach 8-9", but I see SWF is selling small ones. Like other hawkfish, they will perch and lunge at anything that looks edible. I think your neon gobies would be lunch very soon. BTW, my Flame Hawk will eat any shrimp, even if its one leg at a time, did you have any shrimp with yours?

I can't speak for the Freckled. I have a Falco Hawkfish and it does not mess with any of my inverts and loves to get cleaned by my fire shrimp.
