Have a 70gal tank. In March tank was wiped out by ick. Since end of March have been running tank with no fish and salinity of 1.05-1.10. Last week began to increase salinity to 1.17 hoping to re-interduce fish within next couple of days. Today noticed parasites that look like small pieces of dust swimming in tank. Has ick come back? With low salinity and no hosts in tank for 4 months I would think I had fixed the problem.
Could this be something else? Is treating the tank with chemicals my only choice. If so, is there anything that works that will not kill off all my algea at the same time.
