Free Zebra Eel

I am putting this in the Aggressive forum instead of the classifieds because I don't like the rest of those reef/nano guys as much and this is a sweet deal.

I have a huge zebra eel. He is beautiful and fat but I don't want him anymore. I've started liking more agressive eels and he is really just taking up prospective killing space. This zebra (I call him Fatsum) is very docile. He's been around fish as small as chromis, shrimp, and other inverts with never so much as a second glance. He eats once a week normally. I can't stress how beautiful his coloration is. Pitch black body and bleach white stripes.
Now for the bad news...
Local pick up only. I'm giving him away free ($100 eel) so I don't want to hassle with shipping. Also, I want a pic of your tank since he needs a minimum 90gl. He is over 3 feet.
If there are no takers here I will go ahead and put him in the normal classifieds of this site and a few other fish forums.
I don't have many pics of him, but I'll try and snap off a few more.

I'm in no immediate hurry to get rid of him, so if it takes a while then I'm fine with it. He is a real sweetheart though, would be a great addition to any larger tank. It's amazing how little he eats considering his size.
Now when I finally find a reticulated hookjaw moray, I'll be packing his bags right away. lol

sometimes its not the saving of the money part its more of finding good placements for fish in need of a good home.when i got my tess i didnt want it but hubby did i had no tank to keep it in so the lfs cut me a deal just to get it a good home(im a weekly regular there and they now how i am)so i saved a ton onthe eel itself but i had to buy a tank for it.before i picked up the eel i had purchased a 50 gal to put it into as temp housing.i got that set up at cost.decided i wanted a bit bigger so they sold me the 90 tank hood canopy lighting at cost.they realy didnt make a profit from selling it to me.but they did make a sale and got ed a home.plus they discounted everything else i purchased for the eel such as LR live sand crabs ect. so sometimes its worth it.i think this is one of the reasons its so easy for me just to upgrade or add new tanks when need be .or make the trip.I drove to chicago fom mid michigan to get my 300 from AW.nice drive and i got a sweet tank out of the deal

Well, I would love for someone to be that concerned for the welfare of my eel.
He is doing great now. If i had him in a bad environment I would definitely be trying harder to find him another good home. Right now I just feel he is underappreciated.

Myrtle beach is great. They had this awesome butterfly pavilion that they closed down within the last few years. So sad. Bu between Midieval times, the ripleys stuff, normal beach shops, and haunted houses there is always something to do.

i have been there once before during memorial weekend,(jelly fish everywhere) i took a day out from nascar races in charlotte(b4 hubby).i know the kids will enjoy it.the board walk is pretty cool.do they have a large aquarium in nc also? thats one thing i can say my kids love to see.i have teenagers you know how hard they are to please lol. our first large exibit we are planning is sheds for a day trip.you can see so much of michigan before it gets boring lol

Yea they have a pretty decent aquarium where you can pet some sting rays. If you like fresh water fish, they have feeding spots on all the boardwalks. Talk about fun! You drop 50 cents worth of pellets in the water and watch as hundreds of these large mouthed fish literally stack on top of eachother in the water in an attempt to get a pellet. I spent roughly $30 on this during a 4 day weekend there. I never get tired of seeing it. :happyfish

ironic isnt it how we spend so much time looking and caring for our tanks and fish we have. but never tire from seeing more of them and others and even the ones we do have.I never knew how addictive keeping fish was until i started with sw tanks.its like everything is a new learning experience you just cant get enough of.last night in my hours of boredom i accually found myself reading about Ichthyology and the extent of learning about what studies they accually have to learn in becomming one.(i have no interest in becomming an icthylogist)i just like to read.omg the things they have to learn in the feild is overwhelming to say the least.
