Fresh Air and the Ph of my Reeftank

I recently perchased a ph monitor(how cool are these things
) and have noticed the ph to be at 8.0 during the day and down to 7.7-8 in the am. Everything looks great and has been since I set it up 18 mths ago. Well all of the ph talk that I have read has convinced me to try and raise the ph a bit.
The kalk additions only provide a temporary fix. So today I put a 10" fan in my canopy, and ran a line from the venturi on the berlin skimmer(which might be too small but seems to pull alot of crap out of the water) to the outside. Alright my question is, do I need to put a carbon filter inline to the skimmer.????How long till I should see any results from all of this fresh air???
The tank is 210g w/ 400-500lbs LR, 3-250 10K MHs, 4-96atinicts.
sal-.026
alk-11.6
ca-480
mg-1350
temp constant 78
light cycle-12on-12off
Thanks for any feedback.

Your pH is dropping in the AM due to a build-up of CO2. The CO2 builds up from the lack of photosynthesis at night. A simple fix is to have a fuge with some macroalgea on a reverse light cycle.
If your goal is to get a constant level of 8.2 or so, I can't really answer that question, cause it just sort of happened in my tank, lol. However, the reverse light cycle fuge is one simple way to keep your level constant day and night, whatever that level may be (plus the nutrient reduction benefits of the macroalgea/fuge are enormous).

WELL NO CHANGE IN MY PH....IT ONLY GOT TO 7.9 TODAY AS OF 7:00PM, I DID NOTICE THAT MY CHILLER DID NOT RUN AS MUCH AS IT NORMALLY DOES WITH THE ADDITION OF THE FAN IN MY CANOPY.
BESIDE THE REFUGE ANY OTHER IDEAS
THANKS
