Do you mean if hypo dosen't work can you f/w dip? I have used a f/w dip in extreme cases of external parasites on 2 occasions to give temporary relief(ph and temp adjusted with water well oxygenated), and then put the fish into hypo. A f/w dip will only treat the fish. Once the fish is introduced back into the tank the parasites still exist.
I have used hypo 3 times with good results and prefer it over copper, which I have used successfully as well but more stressful.

so hypo is the only sure fire way. i just dont have a qt, and dont have he funds to set one up now but u gotta do wut u gotta do. so basicaly u take ur stock out and treat it in hypo for 4 to 6 weeks and let the DT run for 4 to 6 weeks w/o fish so the parasites dont have a host??

right.
FW dips should only be a last resort becuse it really stresses the fish out and if readded back to a tank with the pathagen it will be reinfected even worse than before you did the FW dip. In some species a FW can actually kill the fish also.
what foods are you feeding and are you adding any additives to the food?
