fresh water fish made into salt water

My local ***** has converted some fresh water fish and put them into their salt water displays why on earth would they do that? how long could they last like that

it can actually be done with brackish water fish such as mollies, because their water is slightly salty to begin with. im sure its not good for them, but they can live for a while like that. some people with hair algae problems will add freshwater mollies to their tanks to gobble it up.

A lot of brackish fish make the transition to the ocean in their adult phases. It isn't harmful to the fish.
